8 Questions to Ask Wedding Vendors.
01. How many weddings do you book each year? How long have you been doing this?
Make sure your wedding vendor has at least 5 years of experience under their belt. This experience is an invaluable wealth of knowledge for you. They’ll undoubtedly have some useful tips to share with you. This information is extremely valuable.
02. How much does the package I’m interested in cost?
Most of the time price is relative. Be sure to factor in experience, reputation, skill, and overall professionalism. Usually, the best wedding vendors come at a higher premium because they’re worth it.
03. How much do you require for deposit? When is the balance due?
Be sure this information is in their contract. If it isn’t, request that they add it.
04. What is included in the package I’m interested in?
Packages are different from company to company, so it’s hard to compare vendors without doing your research. The lowest price isn’t always the best since some higher quotes include services that you have to pay extra for in the lower priced packages. It may take some time to figure it out.
05. What happens if I cancel or postpone? What happens if you cancel? Do you have a backup plan?
Most deposits are non-refundable. Ask if this information is in their contract. The best wedding vendors have backup plans for every possible scenario. Ask them about their backup plans.
06. Can I look over a sample contract?
If they say no, strike them off your list immediately. You need full disclosure on something this important to you.
07. Do you have any additional fees?
Additional fees, taxes, travel costs, etc. need to be clearly laid out in the contract. Know your bottom-line before you sign anything.
08. Do you have liability insurance?
The answer to this question needs to be yes. This protects you in the case of an accident on your wedding day. It also shows that this is a reputable company. Companies that don’t plan on being around for very long usually don’t carry insurance.
